Huevo

I started this piece trying to loosen up my hand and head a bit...I ended up tightening it in the end, but still feel ok about it, so I decided to post it.

There is a central theme, but it's more of an inspiration, since I tried to not overthink too much. It orbits around the egg/fertility concept as well as african art, more specifically bakongo and its american diaspora. This is because ever since I took the Art History course with prof. Bárbaro Martínez-Ruiz, I've been obsessed with Bakongo religion. Note to self: I should use some firmas for the next one.

Watercolor on Montval cold pressed...don't really remember the weight, but it's a lighter one. About 9½ by 7½ inches, 19cm x 24 cm. Limited palette; Ultramarine blue, burnt sienna, yellow ochre & Rose madder
